Installation Instructions

All Resin Rock trays come in a pre-primed finish ready to receive your choice of microcement.
They are machined and hand finished to ensure the correct fall in all directions.

We offer multiple drain options including our unique fully seamless drain system, allowing the coating to extend throughout the lower waste section. Alternatively, our metal drain option is preset at approx. 1-2mm to enable easy installation of the microcement up to the drain lip.

As Microcement requires the best possible substrate we always recommend a solid base support for the Resin Rock former. This is achieved by fitting 18mm Marine Ply (or equivalent) between the floor joists ready for the microcement former to be fully bonded down onto.

Our standard Resin Rock trays are 30mm in thickness to enable a flush transition with a combination of 18mm floorboards/T&G/Ply and 12mm Cement board. The ideal substrate for timber subfloor microcement installations.
Alternatively, a cementitious self-levelling compound can be used and poured to be flush with the tray height. This is commonly used when the installation of electric underfloor heating is being used alongside the microcement application. A minimum of 10mm of levelling compound above cable height is recommended.
